What an eventful day. Rang Phil up and decided to go out for an evening sesion for high tide. Got my hair cut before venturing on my WS session, what an absolute disaster; look as though im in the US army now. Never trust some beginner cutting your hair.

Phil was on his 6.5 so I rigged my biggest sail as conditions felt a bit marginal and I was soon out on the water. Could just about get planing and then tried getting into the footstraps.
After quite a few catapults, realised the boom was too high and lowered it down a few inches. Made quite a big difference as I wasn't stood so upright and could lean back more in the harness.
The wind gradually picked up and conditions were perfect, was nicely powered up and again attempted a few water starts but to no avail so uphauled it. Struggled to get the actual sail flying properly today once I worked my way down to the boom. Was a brilliant session and managed to get into both footstraps for the first time comfortably which felt amazing screaming along.

Was a great session and just before we packed up, I finally found my optimal setup which felt great but it was time to go as the tide was going out fast.
Came in and inspected the play on the top of the boom where the mast is clamped. Found a few cracks on the plastic clamp which explains why it was creaking and groaning when the wind filled in so that booms now in the bin.

On the way home I managed to trash my big board and my Astro Rock. Was 2 miles from home on a busy main A road doin 65 when I looked in my rear view mirror and could see both my boards bouncing along with my 2 booms. Quickly stopped and moved all the gear out of the road with the help of 2 passing motorists. As soon as I managed to clear the raod, a massive stream of traffic from both directions came through so I was very lucky my gear didn't get hit by any cars or get run over.
Got some very funny looks of all the passers by as I was still in my wetsuit.

My roof rack failed on the front and came loose causing the boards to literally fly into the air along with my 2 booms, my wet 6.3 sail and my carbon mast. Didn't have time to inspect all the damage as my main priority was too get everything home and get away from the A road.

Was naturally very pissed of with the whole thing and have yet to inspect all my equipment properly as it was dark once I was back home. I know that My Bic Rumba is in urge of repair as its got a massive dent on the bottom by the nose with a small crack, maybe repairable. Just hope the Atro Rocks ok! Fins were attached to both boards and didn't break of although both have lost a good inch in height and my sails been saved by its bag I hope. Pretty remarkable that the hole lots not been trashed flying onto the road at 65mph. I think the whole lot lifted into the air together and upon landing on the roof racks, everything separated with all my gear spewn across the road. I know for certain it wasn't the roof straps failing as they have a 1 ton capacit y, bit too heavy duty too be honest for the rrof racks. That front roof racks gotta be tied down well or your gonna loose your toys. Apart from disaster on the way back home, the session was superb.
